» 7/21/2009 - André Moreira is the new drummer of Ancesttral
The drummer André Moreira, 30, was confirmed in Ancesttral, who was temporarily working with the drummer of Korzus, Rodrigo Oliveira. “Our choice was very difficult, both because of the good performance by Billy Houster, as the availability of other musicians. We thank Rodrigo very much, who now follow with his band, Korzus.” says Alexandre Grunheidt.
"The drive and desire André has shown before he came to the test, impressed us. When he hit the first notes, we knew he had everything to be the new drummer" said bassist Renato Canonico.
Prior to Ancesttral, André Moreira played in the bands Dirty Punk, Unholy Fire, Tchandala and Finitude. The drummer is endorsed by PDP by DW, Evans Drumheads, Krest Cymbals, sticks Alba, Monitor Headphones for PowerClick, AeroRic Custom Drums and ALE HelloCases Bags.
The group will debut the new drummer this Friday, 24th July, at Blackmore Rock Bar in São Paulo (SP). Besides Ancesttral, the event will be attended the bands Omen (USA), Nuclear Command and Breakdown.

» 4/30/2008 - Billy Houster leaves Ancesttral
Drummer Billy Houster left the São Paulo band ANCESTTRAL, which was promoting their debut album “The Famous Unknown” (2007). “ANCESTTRAL is looking for a route different from what I want for me, including the band’s new compositions. They’ve got all it takes to be successful in this new walk, but we have decided to follow separate ways. I wish the trio all the luck in the world and I am sure that we’ll be together, directly or indirectly. Hugs for all”, said Billy.
“It’s very hard when those things happen. All I have to do is thank Billy and wish him luck with his upcoming projects, in the name of ANCESTTRAL. Despite of this depart, he will still replace Amilcar Christófaro in Damage Inc. (Metallica Cover band). That shows there are no hard feelings among us”, adds guitarist and singer Alexandre Grunheidt.
The band is now looking for a substitute for the “The Famous Unknown” album promotion tour and for recording the new album, set to take place by end-2008. Candidates must send materials (YouTube videos, MySpace, recordings etc.) to press@ancesttral.com.
